The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas condemn the recent terror attacks and continued incitement which has led to the deaths and injuries of scores of Israelis. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of those affected and our support to the people of Israel. We urge the resumption of negotiations as the path to a peaceful solution.

JCRC SPEARHEADS SUCCESSFUL ADVOCACY AT DALLAS CITY COUNCIL
JCRC Executive Director, Anita Zusman Eddy at Dallas City Council Meeting
After months of advocacy by the JCRC on behalf of the Anti-Poverty Coalition of Greater Dallas, the Dallas City Council approved the release of $200,000 for the promotion of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) centers aimed at helping clients obtain the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) .

The EITC is a relatively easy-to-obtain federal income tax credit that provides, on average, an extra $2,000 to eligible working-class families. There is no impact on local and state funds and generally only working individuals qualify for the tax credit. These funds not only help the families themselves, but also benefit the city overall.

The JCRC is leading an Advisory Committee focused on ensuring the success of the VITA program in the Dallas area. The Committee is comprised of representatives from the City of Dallas, United Way, Foundation Communities, The Boone Family Foundation and Joy Tabernacle AME Church.
