Houmas House Plantation and Gardens

What Will This New Year Bring?

Happy New Year!

I'm excited about what this new year brings.  First up is Mardi Gras. Have you ever experienced such revelry? The balls...the parades....the beads... the masks!  Oh what fun. Speaking of balls, I've heard stories of the grand galas held here at my Sugar Palace in the 1800's.  Spun gold hung from the trees and  shimmered in the sunlight.

I've been able to see some grand affairs here since I was crowned Princess.   My favorite wedding here had crystal chandeliers hanging from the trees and  a candlelit aisle leading up to the mansion.  Here is a picture from the grand event.

So, for your New Year resolution, I hope you will visit and see the expanded gardens, additions to the restaurants and stay in the Inn. Whether you're planning your wedding, an overnight adventure or a quick day trip- include a visit to Houmas House in your plans.

I look forward to your visits in 2016!

Much Love,
Princess Maggie
