On July 11, 2015, the Puerto Rico Energy Commission released a public notice notifying the approval, on an emergency basis, of Regulation on Certification, Annual Fees and Operational Plans for Electric Service Providers in Puerto Rico, Regulation No. 8618 and granting a thirty-day term to receive comments.  The Regulation was filed with the PR Department of State on July 13, 2015.

On September 4, 2015, the Commission issued Order CEPR-MI-2015-0006 relating to the Regulation. According to the Order, the Commission received comments and requests for clarification after the approval of Regulation No. 8618.  Thus , it resolved to extend the term to receive written comments on Regulation No. 8618 until September 25, 2015 Comments should be submitted in accordance with the instructions established by the Commission in the Order. In addition, the Order extended the following deadlines, established on Regulation No. 8618, which are applicable to electric service companies:
  • December 1, 2015: Submittal of Personal Information, information on gross revenue generated during the previous fiscal year, and last audited statement.
  • December 18, 2015:  Submittal of Operation Report.
  • December 18, 2015:  Filing of Request for Certification.
