2016 SK Summer Games  
The golf portion of the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games will run July 24-27 at the TS&M Woodlawn GC, in Estevan.  Details regarding qualifiers will be finalized and communicated by the end of April 2016 or beginning of May.  For details on the games, please click here.

2016 Golf Saskatchewan AGM  
This year, the Annual General Meeting was on April 16 at the Willows Golf & Country Club Saskatoon. It was a successful start to this year's golf season.

Women's Rosebowl Championship

The 2016 Women's Rosebowl Championship will take place at the Greenbryre GCC in Saskatoon on August 10th and 11th. 

 

General Manager Brad Vinnick stated, "the Greenbryre GCC is honoured to showcase what our 12 hole golf facility can do.  The ladies who come out to compete will be treated to a great facility with friendly staff."

What is the Women's Rosebowl?

It is a partners, better ball, net score championship.  Each player may play the hole and the team takes the better net score between the two balls played.  The fun thing with the format is a player does not have to score every hole.  She can rely on her partner and visa versa. 

 

If you are looking for some fun this summer we encourage you to find a partner (even from a different club) and participate.  See you on the links in 2016.      

Summer Interns join Golf Saskatchewan

As the season gets under way two new faces have been added to the Golf Saskatchewan team. Mikaela Spooner and Spencer Ewen are the summer interns for 2016.
 
Mikaela was born and raised in Saskatoon. She is also at the University of Saskatchewan obtaining her bachelor's degree in marketing. Mikaela grew up playing golf at the lake and is ready to get back into the game.
 
Spencer is originally from the
town of Watson. He is currently attending the University of Saskatchewan and pursuing his bachelor's degree in finance. Spencer developed a love for the game at an early age. His favorite course in Saskatchewan is the Humboldt Golf Club.

Both, Spencer and Mikaela are excited to have this opportunity with Golf Saskatchewan. They are looking forward to meeting some new faces!

Golf Saskatchewan is looking for people who would like to assist in the delivery of our programs and services.  The areas we have volunteer positions include:

At each Provincial Championship:

  • Tournament Registration
  • Tournament Starter/Scorers
  • Pace of Play Officials
  • Forecaddies / Spotters
  • Leaderboard Driver and Scorers

At each member club:

  • Club Captain (Women, Men, Seniors, Junior) - these volunteers relay the correspondences from Golf Saskatchewan to the membership
  • Handicap Chair and Committee Member

If the SGHF Committee has enough nominees, an event may take place on Saturday, September 24th, 2016 at the Riverside Country Club, Saskatoon.
