2015 General Aviation and Part 135 Activity Survey
The 38th annual General Aviation and Part 135 Activity Survey is now underway. It is the Federal Aviation Administration's primary source of information about the size and activity of the general aviation and on-demand Part 135 fleet. The survey is conducted on behalf of the FAA by Tetra Tech, an independent research firm, and all survey responses are confidential. Tetra Tech would like to hear from everyone who receives an invitation to complete the survey to prepare accurate statistics on aviation activity. Brazil's TAM Aviação Executiva Invests in its Future
In Brazil, TAM Aviação Executiva is a familiar name among business aircraft operators. With a network of service centers around the country and facilities located at all of Brazil's main airports, TAM provides aircraft sales, maintenance, FBO services, crew training, aircraft management and charter. While the company employs some 500 personnel today, it started with just a few pilots operating a small air taxi service in 1961. 

"TAM Taxi Aereo Marilia began operations with three small Cessna aircraft," said Antonio A. R. Simões, special projects manager . "Two years later, a young pilot named Rolim Adolfo Amaro joined the company and later became one of the partners, setting off one of the most important aviation legacies in Brazil. New FAA Course -- Applying Systems Safety Principles to Product Certification: Aug. 16-18
The intent of this three-day course is to focus on how systems engineers should apply concepts of system safety principles to the products they will certify. KADEX AERO SUPPLY secured distribution for TRUE BLUE POWER Advanced Lithium-ion Batteries. 

UNIVERSAL AVIONICS SYSTEMS CORP. announced that the FAA granted Technical Standard Order authorization for Universal Avionics AHS-525 Attitude Heading Reference System. This long-awaited approval allows the company to manufacture and bring to market a new addition to its product line. In addition, the company's UniLink UL-800/801 Communications Management Unit Software Control Number 31.X is expected to receive TSO approval by midyear. And certification for the integration of Universal Avionics EFI-890H Advanced Flight Displays in the Airbus Helicopters AS332L1 is on track for mid-2016. 

GLOBALPARTS.AERO was designated as the first domestic stocking dealer by Baker Aviation. 

VECTOR AEROSPACE announced the grand opening of a new engine test cell at its Summerside facility in Prince Edward Island, Canada. It also signed a three-year contract with HeliSpeed Ltd. for the supply of civil pilots to assist the growth of Vector's U.K. facilities. 

JEPPESEN said that Saudi Arabian Airlines integrated the installed version of Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro as its electronic flight bag solution and uses a portable iPad-based EFB as a backup with its Boeing 787 aircraft. 

GULF COAST AVIONICS and PACIFIC COAST AVIONICS were approved as authorized dealers for the Appareo family of Stratus portable and panel-mounted ADS-B products. 

GULF COAST AVIONICS named JOHN THEOBALD its new avionics manager. 

ACR ELECTRONICS showcased  the importance of having a 406 MHz beacon by backing this year's Hudson Memorial Fly In that took place in Talkeetna, Alaska. 

ELLIOTT AVIATION added a mobile ADS-B installation team that will be able to complete select Collins, Honeywell and Garmin ADS-B turbine aircraft installations at U.S. locations equipped to handle aircraft maintenance. 

ACSS, a division of L-3 AVIATION PRODUCTSdeveloped an ADS-B transponder solution for legacy corporate aircraft, the NXT-700. 

COMLUX THE AVIATION GROUP appointed DOMINGO URENA RASO to its board of directors. The company also signed its 12th VIP interior completion for a BBJ 737-700IGW aircraft. 

ROCKWELL COLLINS, in a series of recent network tests, validated the performance of Inmarsat's Jet ConneX network as well as a number of its own value-added services. The company also announced that its horizontal stabilizer trim and flap actuation systems will be featured on the new Cessna Citation Longitude super-midsize business jet. In addition, Rockwell Collins and Switzerland-based AMAC Aerospace completed the first CES to Venue high-definition cabin management and entertainment system upgrade on a Bombardier Global aircraft in Europe. Also, Rockwell Collins' FANS 1/A solution for Dassault Falcon 50EX aircraft that have been upgraded with Pro Line 21 avionics is now certified as part of a supplemental type certificate held by Dassault Falcon Jet. Finally, Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics upgrade for King Air 350s equipped with Pro Line II has been expanded to include Flight Management System navigation database updates and coverage under its Corporate Aircraft Service Program at no additional charge for three years. 

GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE CORP. announced that the Gulfstream G450 and G550 flew from Savannah, Georgia, to Geneva on a renewable fuel blend to join Gulfstream's static display at the 2016 EBACE. Also, the Gulfstream G650ER recently claimed another city-pair record, this time linking Sydney to Los Angeles. The company also added line maintenance and aircraft-on-ground services at London Stansted Airport. 

GARMIN announced that the FAA issued type inspection authorization for the G5000 integrated flight deck on the Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP aircraft. TIA initiates the formal FAA flight evaluation of the G5000 flight deck modernization program, indicating this program is in its final stages of certification. Garmin also introduced D2 Bravo Titanium, a premium aviation GPS smartwatch that combines contemporary design and sophisticated connectivity to bring pilots and aviation enthusiasts an elite aviator watch. 

FLIGHTSAFETY INTERNATIONAL was selected by Honeywell as its exclusive maintenance training provider; announced an expansion of its advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training program; will offer training for the Gulfstream G650 in Farnborough; introduced FlightBag, a newly enhanced courseware delivery and presentation application; and expanded its Rejected Takeoff Go/No-Go course for pilots who fly Gulfstream aircraft. 

CONSTANT AVIATION named JEREMY SNIDER as the Gulfstream fleet sales manager. 

VIH AEROSPACE received EASA approval for its aftermarket replacement MCP01 Master Caution Panel for the Bell 212 and 412 series helicopters. 

FLYING COLOURS CORP. signed a launch customer for INAIRVATION Global Retrofit. 

328 DESIGN GmbH was awarded a contract from ALAMO Engineering GmbH to upgrade the EMBRAER 135 jet variants, including the Legacy 600 and 650 aircraft family, with the latest Honeywell DU-875 ELITE Cockpit Displays. 

AERO DYNAMIX named STUART PARKER sales and marketing manager. 

ASTRONAUTICS CORP. OF AMERICA received a BizTimes I.Q. Award for Innovation from BizTimes Media LLC for its new RoadRunner Electronic Flight Instrument. 

FREEFLIGHT SYSTEMS  announced that Precision Heli-Support LLC received STC approval for installation of the FreeFlight Systems RA-4000/4500 radar altimeter and FTG-410 tone generator audio alert safety system in MD 369, 500N, and 600N models. 

DUNCAN AVIATION announce the formation of a future Duncan Aviation Alliance Program. The goal will be to enhance market presence and customer service levels for corporate jet operators in Europe, Middle East and Africa by developing long-term relationships with highly respected service providers throughout the continent. In addition, Duncan Aviation released its most recent version of the NextGen Straight Talk book. Duncan Aviation also delivered its first Falcon 7X 1C inspection, with added interior refurbishment and complete paint, two days ahead of schedule. The company also compiled and published a new edition of its Business Jet Model/Market Summary. 

STANDARD AERO Business Aviation received official confirmation and certification for providing aircraft and engine services in Aruba, expanding the company's international footprint and investments to more than 40 different countries around the world. In addition, StandardAero appointed Jet Aviation Basel as a Rolls-Royce AE 3007A engine Service Center. The company also was authorized by Honeywell as the exclusive major maintenance provider for overhaul services for the Honeywell HTF7000 family of turbofan engines. 

AVMAX recently acquired one CRJ-200 msn 7784 and four CF34-3B1 engines esn 807080, 872326, 872366 and 872170 from Cimber Air-Leasing A/S, Denmark and one CRJ-200 msn 7419 from Cimber Sterling A/S, Denmark. 

PORTA AIR SERVICE, Porta Westfalica and AirPlus Maintenance, Friedrichshafen merged their businesses in order to offer an even higher service level. The new alliance with 85 employees now offers One Stop Shop solutions for piston, turboprops and jets under EASA and FAA at five different locations. 

BANYAN AIR SERVICE is now approved as an authorized dealer and installation facility for Advent Aircraft System's recent FAA STC for the advanced-technology GPS/digital anti-skid braking system. This STC is for Beechcraft King Air B300/ B300C equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line GPS 4000S or Garmin G1000/ 430W/ 530W avionics. 

PRO STAR AVIATION has expanded the AML for ST00347BO -- Upgrade of BendixKing CAS 67A TCAS II Change 7.0 System to CAS 67B TCAS II Change 7.1. 

AVIATION SPECIALTIES UNLIMITED said it is offering a limited-time pricing special during the month of June on the new Ecliptus night vision GoPro camera. 

SATCOM DIRECT introduced the SD Pro, the first fully integrated flight operations management platform that manages flight logs, performance data, scheduling, trip planning, maintenance information and operating history. 

WESTERN AIRCRAFT, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, completed  a Falcon 900EX project that included major maintenance, interior refurbishment and the company's first Elite II upgrade. 

LATITUDE TECHNOLOGIES CORP. announced it will offer an Aero "I" replacement product for the price of USD $15,000. 

ANODYNE ELECTRONICS MANUFACTURING CORP. was selected by the Boeing Company to supply the Internal PA System for use on the CH-47 Chinook Helicopters for the Indian government.
