NNCG Webinar Series Resumes

The 2016 Webinar schedule is starting to take shape, and we will kick off on April 19th at 2p Eastern with "Corporate Philanthropy: Moving from "That Nice Thing we Do" to a Business Imperative" led by NNCG Member Jeff Hoffman.

In our philanthropy sphere, we all think of ourselves as funders, or advisers to funders. As we know, there are various types of philanthropy, and mechanisms, to carry it out even before broaching the topic of issue areas and focus. One facet that sometimes can be a mystery is corporate philanthropy. In the age of collaboration, where foundations, nonprofits, governments and business are sitting together to solve problems, it's important to understand the motivation for the companies at the table. This webinar will give you a view into the quickly evolving world of corporate philanthropy and how it fits into the broader strategy of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and overall company mission and strategy.

NNCG to Implement New Membership Management Software

We are excited to announce that we will be implementing new membership management software over the next several weeks.  This will better allow us to track all membership data, and will give our members more control over their profiles.  We will also be able to create a social community, allowing our members to make connections with one another, create and join circles, and share their status and activity stream through a members-only list serve, as well as forums and discussion boards for posting topics and responses.  Please watch for status updates as we progress!

Informing Change recently partnered with Beth Cousens to document the Jewish Resource Specialist (JRS) Initiative, a project that endeavors to build the field of Jewish early childhood education through JRS educators. Already part of their preschools' communities, JRS educators receive coaching and professional development, which they use, in turn, to serve as mentors to their fellow co-teachers. This report is a roadmap for those who want to adapt the JRS model to other schools and communities. Read it here.
