John Crichton has been proprietor of The Brick Row Book Shop in San Francisco since 1983. He has served as president of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America and the Book Club of California, and he has served on the governing boards of the Bibliographical Society of America, Rare Book School at the University of Virginia and the Fellowship of American Bibliophilic Societies. He is a member of the American Antiquarian Society.
