FALL PROGRAMS FUN -- HELP WANTED
Troop 599 is a boy lead Troop but our Scouts rely on a robust Adult organization to assist in putting our programs together.

If you are interested assisting our Adult Programs Team next year, please contact Mark Peachee ( markpeacheefamily@sbcglobal.net) to learn how you can help!  Specifically, we have needs surrounding Tuesday evening programming, our annual Food Drive and, in the spring, Scout Sunday.

If Programs is not your thing, we also need help in the Development, Administration and Outings areas.  Contact us!

A vital Adult Leadership organization can help to make the year more fun and helps the Troop thrive!  You don't have to be a uniformed Leader to be involved!

We need your help!

New Advancement Requirements
Now that we are into 2016, be aware that new advancement requirements are coming into play. If you joined Boy Scouts before January 1, 2016, and have not already advanced a rank, then you continue operating under the 2015 requirements. Once you advance a rank on or after January 1, 2016, then you are operate under the 2016 requirements. (If you joined Boy Scouts on or after January 1, 2016, then you operate under the 2016 requirements immediately.) That is the general rule until January 1, 2017.  As of January 1, 2017, regardless of when you joined, whether you have advanced, or what rank you are working on, you will have to start operating under the 2016 requirements.

For 2016:
(1) Scouts joining on or after Jan. 1, 2016 MUST use the new requirements.
(2) Scouts who have joined prior to Jan. 1, 2016:
      (a) Who are working on the Scout badge MAY continue to work on the existing
requirements, but MUST convert to the new requirements upon completion of
the Scout badge.
      (b) Who are working on Tenderfoot through First Class MAY continue to work on the existing requirements, but MUST convert to the new requirements upon
attaining First Class.
       (c) Who have completed First Class MAY complete the rank they are currently
working on in the existing requirements, but then MUST convert to the new
requirements for subsequent ranks.

For 2017 All Scouts MUST use the new requirements regardless of rank.
