Ingham Impact Podcast
Early childhood learning is critical to school preparedness.  At Ingham ISD, Early Childhood staff support teachers and families from pregnancy to  Kindergarten. Early Childhood provides home visits, special education programs, play groups , instructional support and comprehensive preschool options for students  throughout the Ingham ISD service area. Early Childhood staff collaborate with  elementary instruction to build systems and best practices  which help students read proficiently by grade 3. Kudos Early Childhood! #InghamImpact

Showcase Highlights Student Achievement
Businesses are looking for prospective employees with a combination of both education and experience. Capital Area Career Center students receive the benefit of both. We invite you to join us on May 11 from 4:00-8:00pm for our Annual Student Showcase at 611 Hagadorn Road in Mason. Here we highlight student accomplishments and share experiences with community members, prospective students, business partners, parents and the media. Fresh & Furious on the Road
Our Fresh & Furious Food Truck is on the road and catering special events. On April 13, students and staff were parked in front of the Capitol building serving legislators and downtown community members in their first big debut. We want to send a big shout out to Talent Investment Agency Director, Stephanie Comai, for joining us. The Fresh & Furious Food Truck will be i n front of the  Michigan Economic Development Corporation  building on Thursday, May 19 from 11:00am-1:00pm. We encourage you to spread the word and stop to pick up a sandwich or a salad for lunch.

Kids Count Data
The 2016 Kids Count in Michigan Data Book shows challenges still exist for Ingham County's children. The Michigan League for Public Policy (MLPP) has been compiling and releasing the annual Kids Count in Michigan Data Book for 25 years to analyze and evaluate the well-being of children in the state. In Ingham County, 23.7% of children lived in poverty in 2014; a 10 percent increase from nine years ago. With one being the best, Ingham County ranked 39th for child well-being and 42nd for childhood poverty. Read the full report on the MLPP website .
