Principal's Message
March 25, 2016
Dear Families and Friends of OLQP,

Another busy week has come and gone. Our Catholic Faith has been shining through in many beautiful ways during this special time in the life of the Church.  The Lenten journey is one of prayer, reflection, and sacrificial fasting as well as giving. At OLQP, students have participated fully in the season.

Last Friday was the last time to pray the Stations of the Cross together as a school family. The prayer was dramatized by students. The pageantry made the tragedy and sorrow of the reality come to life. The prayer service was held both for the student body at morning prayer and for the Lenten Supper attendees in the evening. Both casts did an outstanding job. The solemnity of the message was captured and helped deepen the prayer experience for everyone who attended.

Students and staff prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet accompanied by the musical talents of Miss Egea and her friends. It is said that those who sing, pray twice, and so we did. It was so beautiful to hear the children's voices mixing with those of the song leaders.

The "Coins for Water" project concluded with great success. The sponsoring class was joined by the student council members and faculty to give a big round of "GOOD JOB!" to the student body. Mrs. Brewster and Mrs. Peltier shared pictures of the drilling project that is successfully bringing four water wells to rural families in Vietnam. Fr. Tin Pham, from St. Joseph's on the Brazos, expressed his gratitude for the OLQP family partnering with him to help these families.

During the Triduum, one cannot help but meditate on the mystery of the cross. May we all find strength and courage to face whatever challenges this life journey sends with the confidence that Our Lord and His mother are walking with us always.   Let us also, during the trials of this life, remember that no matter how difficult, our amazing God, can transform even the worst of times into something life- giving and beautiful. May the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ fill you and your family with faith, hope, and love.

Yours in Christ,

Mrs. Marianne Mechura, M.Ed.
Interim Principal
