Investing in Our Future - One Hamantaschen at a Time

Did you know that SHJ sends holiday gift packs to students, teens and young adults for Jewish holidays throughout the year? 

Youth under the age of 22 who have recently attended one of our HuJews Conclaves (SHJ's annual Humanistic Jewish teen and young adult conference), or who are Young Adult or Lifetime Members of SHJ receive holiday packs for Purim, Passover, Rosh Hashana, Hanukka and Tu Bi'Shevat.

Holiday gift packs encourage our youth to connect with their Judaism as they progress through their teen years on to college and beyond.

Individuals and corporate sponsors can support the expansion of the HuJews Youth Program, scholarships for the HuJews Conclave, and the creation of Humanistic Jewish campus communities, thus enabling teens and college students to more strongly connect to Humanistic Judaism.  Please contact SHJ if you are interested in supporting the SHJ youth programs. 
Welcome Kate Forest, SHJ's New HuJews Coordinator!

We are happy to introduce you to Kate Forest and welcome her into our community.

Kate holds a Master's in Social Work from Columbia University, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has worked with kids and families in a variety of settings, always finding joy in traveling beside young people on the path of self-discovery. 

She was a member of Kol Haverim in Ithaca, NY. After moving to Philadelphia, she joined Jewish Children's Folkshul, where she taught 7 th grade for eight years and then became the B'nai Mitzvah Coordinator.

Kate is also the Operations Manager at the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism.

SHJ is excited to share information about two spring conferences celebrating Humanism and Judaism.  The conferences are excellent opportunities to connect with other like-minded thinkers, hear from amazing speakers, and to learn more about programs and services offered by these organizations.
