No interest, no down payment home loan?
Sound too good to be true? Maybe not. If your gross annual income is between 50%-80% of the area median income (typically between $30,000 and $54,000 per year) you may qualify to purchase a First Story home.
This is a great opportunity to move into homeownership and purchase a wonderful home. Check out the flyer below and click on the following link to view the Astoria Floor Plan.

New Year, new goals
The New Year is an opportunity to gain new perspective, reflect on accomplishments from the past year and set some goals for the year to come. As you sit down to think about the direction of the next year, here are some things to keep in mind:
- Dream big--ideas can become things
- Break down big goals into bite size chunks
- If at first you don't succeed try again
- Ask for help, there may be more available than it seems
- Take time to brainstorm
- Be honest with yourself
- Don't beat yourself up, trying is a step in the right direction
If you find it hard to maintain momentum or find the time to stick with your goals we have the answer, S.T.E.P.S.
This four part class will provide you the opportunity to challenge old thought patterns of who you are and what you can accomplish. Class size is limited, so contact your client services coordinator to find out more or to set up an individual goal setting session.

Oregon's Kitchen Table
The PATHWorks team is involved in representing the needs of our communities. Make your voice heard around the state at the kitchen table!
This summer a group of policy makers, social scientist service providers, program participants and economists came together throughout Oregon to brain storm how to address poverty in the state. Check out some of the results here. Join the conversation and make your voice heard.
Also, check out the Oregon Business Council's plan for economic recovery and prosperity. Learn more about the issues facing our families and the economy here and around the state. You can find this and more about the Oregon business plan at their website.

Jennifer S. member of the leadership team
The PATH Works Team is excited to announce the formation of the leadership team! At the Community Leadership Institute in Cincinnati our team decided to commit to giving back to the PATHWorks program as leaders. This leadership team is currently made up of four participants who will be spearheading the PATHWorks event coming up.
One of the participants who will help make this happen is Jennifer S. She is an amazing woman who is following her dreams. Jennifer is a hardworking mother of 3, going to school and working at the same time. She has been connected with the PATHWorks program for a number of years.
Jennifer says that she wants so much more for her family and that she saw that she could be so much more. She started by setting goals at a time she describes as unstable. Her first step was getting her driver's license which included paying off $10,000 in fines. She took personal development classes, built her credit up from 0, got her GED, and is now in college working and moving towards a long term career. All of this is preparation for her ultimate goal of buying a home to create a better life for her kids.
In a recent interview Jennifer was asked about the importance of her coordinator's support. She said, "Every time I talk to you (Kelly), you make it sound like I can do it. When I would go home I would think, she believes I can do it so I can do it...so it would push me harder and harder towards my goal...never in a million years did I think I would be in college." Jennifer hopes to graduate in Human Services and find employment in her field; helping others in the community live a more stable life and move towards their dreams too.
