2e: Twice Exceptional the Movie will play at the Palace of Fine Arts, Innovation Hangar Theater, San Francisco, on Saturday, February 13, 2:00 pm. Panel discussion follows with Dr. Dan Peters, filmmaker Tom Ropelewski, and Susan Baum, Ph.D., Director of The 2e Center for Research and Professional Development at Bridges Academy.

Camp Summit Registration Opens
|
Camp Summit for the Gifted, Talented, and Creative is now bicoastal! Camp Summit West will take place June 19-25 in the Marin Headlands, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
All new Camp Summit East will take place August 7-13 in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
Camp Summit is a week-long overnight summer camp designed specifically for gifted students ages 9 through 15.

New Guidelines on Testing Accommodations for Learning Disabilities
|
Our friends at Dyslexic Advantage are helping to get the word out new guidelines from US Department of Justice regarding the implementation of the American for Disabilities Act for students with learning disabilities. In particular, these guidelines:
* reduce the requirement to re-test if the student previously qualified for accommodations;
* state that twice exceptional students - those who are gifted with one or more learning differences - still qualify for assistance even if they are not failing classes
* students who previously qualified should still receive accommodations for college, graduate school, licensing, and trade examinations
For example, the guidelines state, "A person with a history of academic success may still be a person with a disability who is entitled to testing accommodations under the ADA."
Not all schools may be aware of these guidelines as they were just posted (even though they are dated 2014).
