Instilling Knowledge, Inspiring Faith February 8, 2016 Dear OLQP Parents, Meet Interim Principal, Mrs. Marianne Mechura, M.Ed. OLQP welcomes Mrs. Marianne Mechura as interim principal. Mrs. Mechura comes to OLQP with a love for the school community and a wealth of experience. Mrs. Mechura taught 5th and 6th grades at OLQP when Sr. Antoinette was still here, and Jack Hawthorne was principal. She was appointed Assistant Principal to Jack Hawthorne during that time. Her children attended OLQP. Mrs. Mechura said, "I had the privilege of being here when Sr. Antoinette was still here. Knowing her was a great gift to me. She taught me the heart, prayer, and commitment needed to work in a Catholic school. We stayed in touch over the years. She was a blessing to my family and to me." Mrs. Mechura has over 25 years' experience in education.  Her husband's transfer brought the family to the Diocese of Beaumont where she served as a Catholic school principal and assistant superintendent for the Office of Catholic Schools.  Mrs. Mechura came back to OLQP due to another family transfer. She has most recently taught fifth grade at OLQP. She said, "Being part of the OLQP family felt like a homecoming to me. I am happy to be part of this mission and carry on the vision of Sr. Antoinette Peltier. I visited with Sister in the spring before she passed away. I told her I knew that she could help us even more from Heaven. Sr. Antoinette assured me of her prayers and said, 'Once my children, always my children!'
