THE MONITOR

Welcoming EDI Vice President-Business Development, Dr. Bill Sowell, to the IRF 4th Middle East Regional Congress in Riyadh, is Saudi Arabia's Minister and Deputy Minister of Transport, (respectively), His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Mogbel, and His Excellency Eng. Hathloul Al-Hathlool.
4th. International Road Federation (IRF) Middle East Regional Congress
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:  13-15 December 2015

Confronted with rapid urbanization and growing mobility demand, transportation leaders across the Gulf, and broader Middle East, are investing in a range of infrastructure programs and services, as evidenced by the emergence of spectacular signalized intersection modernization, mass transit, inter-urban highway and railway projects throughout the region. With Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries alone expected to invest more than US$121 billion on surface transportation infrastructure improvements over the next five years.

IRF's 4th. Middle East Regional Congress was the premier platform where regional and international Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) stakeholders shared solutions and technological advances to effectively address the region's major transportation challenges. With more than 800 delegates present for the regional event, His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Mogbel, Saudi Minister of Transport, and Chairman of the International Road Federation, noted that in common with the region's economies, Saudi Arabia's mandate to deliver transportation networks of the highest standards could only be achieved through access to global expertise and know-how.

Dr. Bill Sowell, EDI's Vice President-Business Development, introduced the iCITE™  Data Aggregator DA-200 and DA-300 which are revolutionary new systems that collect and report real-time traffic cabinet and traffic data from intersections and arterial roadways that features an environmentally hardened high-speed internal cellular modem to maintain continuous connectivity to isolated or non-interconnected intersections. Conference delegates expressed significant interest in the two new EDI solutions that can provide the required traffic data to deliver performance measures for a myriad of Middle East ITS projects.

EDI and Reno A&E continue to recruit experienced traffic control solution distributors, OEM partners and traffic consulting firms that provide traffic count services to sell and support the Data Aggregator product suite worldwide.  [For more information regarding iCITE™ Data Aggregator, please visit www.editraffic.com/da-series/ or contact your local Eberle Design, Inc. or Reno A&E authorized reseller, or call +1.602.437.1955]
Reno A&E Introduces
 New Bus Interface Units
Reno A&E is excited to introduce two new Bus Interface Units, models BIU-1220 and BIU-1240. The BIU-1200 series BIU interfaces 24V logic signals to the SDLC serial bus in a NEMA TS-Cabinet. The unit interfaces between the controller unit and the loop detector racks, terminals and facilities and other devices in a NEMA TS-2 cabinet assembly.

The BIU-1200 series models are compatible with all controller units and cabinets compliant with the requirements of NEMA Standard TS2-2003. The model BIU-1220 is a half-width configuration (1.12" wide face plate) and the BIU-1240 is the standard width configuration (2.25" wide face plate).
