UNDERGROUND STORM SYSTEM WORK WILL REQUIRE ROAD CLOSURE ON BRANCH HILL-GUINEA ROAD BEGINNING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23
A portion of Branch Hill-Guinea Road will be closed in both directions through Friday, December 18
The Clermont County Engineer's Office announced today that traffic on Branch Hill-Guinea Road from Branch Hill-Miamiville to Branch Hill-Loveland will be closed in both directions beginning Monday, November 23, 2015, through Friday, December 18, 2015, weather permitting. A detour will be in place that directs traffic from Branch-Hill Guinea Road to Wards Corner Road to I-275 to Loveland-Madeira Road.

Crews in this area are working on replacement of an underground storm pipe, which requires a full closure of the road in the project area. Following the closure, the road will reopen in both directions and then construction work will resume in the spring to complete the project.

Clermont County Engineer Pat Manger said that the Branch Hill-Guinea Drainage Improvements are a significant safety improvement and an important component of upgrading the infrastructure in this area. "This work will provide an updated drainage system that will not only serve to move water more efficiently away from the roadway but will also eliminate the sharp drops and deep ditches along the roadside," said Manger. "In addition, Branch Hill-Guinea will be widened between Branch Hill-Miamiville and Branch Hill-Loveland Road, and paved shoulders will be installed that will improve safety for all traffic traveling through this portion of Branch Hill-Guinea Road."

"We have completed the work that necessitated a closure on a separate section of Branch Hill-Guinea Road on schedule," Manger continued. "But during the course of that work, a section of the underground pipe was seen to be in a condition that warranted immediate repair. This upcoming closure is being prompted by the necessity of fixing that pipe now, rather than waiting until spring as originally anticipated."

Manger added that throughout the course of this work, the Clermont County Engineer's Office has maintained close communication with the Loveland City School District and the school district will accommodate the closure through modified bus routing as they have done over the course of previous closures in the project area. The City of Loveland has also worked closely with the Engineer's Office to ensure the disruption to local traffic is as minimal as possible. Local law enforcement will continue to assist traffic during peak hours throughout the closure period.
