Ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Costa Rica with Praying Pelican Missions, networking with local churches,  serving in our community,  and connecting mission teams to  life- changing ministry opportunities.
1st Staff Retreat a Success!
We had a great time getting to know each other at our 1st Staff Retreat.  In Costa Rica, it's easy to get a beautiful location for a retreat! We took time to get to know each other, hear the Word, and get trained to lead life-changing mission trips all over Costa Rica! We now have 5 new staff members that we are happy to call Pelicans!

30% Towards Goal

We are thankful this month for the addition of new Monthly Supporters.  We are getting closer to being fully funded once again.

C H R I S T M A S!
If you know Laura and our children, you know that they have been tracking how many days are left until Christmas!

Isaiah stole the show as a sheep in his school Christmas performance!

Our tree is up, and yes, it's strange to sweat while putting up a Christmas tree, but this is life in Costa Rica!

We are eagerly awaiting out first visit back to the U.S. since moving here. Although our time will be very short, we look forward to connecting with you and sharing what God is doing in Costa Rica.  We will be spending time in Delaware, Michigan, and Ohio.

We have a feeling we will be gaining weight over Christmas, not just because of all the holiday sweets, but because of all of the food we have been missing!
New Partnership Announcements
This month was very special for me as I was able to tell two churches that we previously have worked with that they now have partnering churches in the U.S.  Both sets of churches were overjoyed to hear that they have a committed church in the U.S. that is looking to come serve with them on a continual basis!  God is so faithful to connect hearts from different cultures.  We are thankful to help be the bridge between cultures that Praying Pelican Missions has solidly become!
Divine Connections
I was able to take a four day trip to the other side of Costa Rica to meet with five pastors.  I had previously met four of them, but one was a scouting meeting to see if they would be a good fit with PPM.

Many of you were praying for us on this quick trip, and your prayers were felt!  God let us to a new pastor in a tourist town called Jaco.  The pastor, from a network of Mennonite founded churches, was so eager to meet with us and tell us all about his community and church.

Being in a tourist location, and living in a country where prostitution is legal makes for a very sad story.  Many parents are selling their own children to the tourists for sex!  As the pastor began to tell us the heart for his community, it seemed way too easy to say "YES!  We will partner with you!"

Just one week later and we are putting together details to bring a team to this city that needs the light and love of Jesus so desperately!
Darrell's Adventure in San Jose, CR
As you probably have read, Darrell is excited to announce that he's been accepte d into the Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission.  The great part is that is located in San Jose, Costa Rica.

We all know that God has great things in store for him as he seeks to pursue God in a new way.  Would you continue to pray specifically for him?  He starts January 8th and the program runs five months (three months of training and two months of outreach).

Darrell is currently fundraising to make this Discipleship Training School a reality.  He is currently 27% funded towards the goal of $6,000.  Thank you to all who have given so generously!  If you want to make a donation towards his YWAM experience, you can give through our PPM donation page and just note that it is for Darrell.   You can give by clicking here!

 A True Christmas Trip
I have the awesome opportunity to lead a mission trip to Nicoya, Costa Rica December 12-18.  This is a unique trip in that it is made up individuals instead of large groups. We will be serving alongside Pastor Warner whose church consists primarily of children, which he has fed through his feeding program weekly for the last 8 years.  We get to serve alongside of him as he puts on a Christmas Party for 1,000 children!  Did you hear that, 1,000 children will hear the Gospel of Jesus!  I can't think of a better Christmas present to give!

In this group of people coming to serve, we have five people coming from Immanuel Church in Delaware that we are very excited to see again.  We also have a wonderful lady from Minnesota who is on staff with PPM that is coming to serve with us as well.

Would you pray for us as we share the love of Jesus in Nicoya?

Love,
Nathan, Laura, Darrell, Reagan, Abigail,  Malachi  & Isaiah Norman
