Studio Tip - Clean, Sharp Edges

This tip is for us artists working in watercolor, acrylic, charcoal or pastel.
If you are looking for a clean, sharp edge around your artwork, here's a handy tip that works for me.

My video shows a charcoal sketch on paper - and if you prefer a clean-edge border, you probably have tried the "ScotchBlue Painter's Tape" by 3M.
It's tacky enough to stick, yet easily removed when you're finished -
giving  your drawing a clean, sharp edge. It has almost a mono print look...

Check out this product - "ScotchBlue Pre-Taped Painter's Plastic" - also by 3M.  Cool thing about it - it is a unique tape that has a thin plastic "apron"
or bib attached and prevents charcoal dust, fingerprints or splashes
landing on the clean area.

After spraying the artwork with a fixative, slowly peel the tape and
plastic from the artwork.  And there you have it - a professionally finished look to your artwork.
