Ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Costa Rica by encouraging local churches & pastors, serving in our community, and connecting mission teams to life-changing ministry opportunities  with the local Costa Rican church.

Vision Trip
This Saturday, October 3rd, I will have the great opportunity to lead my second trip. This is not your normal mission trip.  I will be taking four men from a church in South Carolina to meet with several local pastors.  They are coming to prayerfully consider which church in Costa Rica they feel the Lord is calling them to partner with.  My job for the week is to expose them to some of the great churches and pastors here in Costa Rica.  I'm looking forward to seeing what God will do through this trip, and the connections that will be made for future trips.  It is exciting to be able to work with a church that is so intentional about making a life-long partnership in missions!

As part of this trip, we will be meeting with a family that I met just four weeks ago.  I was able to take the photo pictured here, and it was probably their last family photo.  David, Pastor Eva's husband, suddenly passed away two weeks ago.  Pastor Eva and her late husband had been making plans to build a new church building and just recently asked the bank for a small loan to help them complete the building.  They have been meeting in houses for about 10 years.  Will you pray for our team this week as we go to hear her heart, but also to minister God's love and comfort to her, her daughter, and grandson?
Looking for more Monthly Financial Partners
Last month we wrote about our need for needing more Monthly Financial Partners.  We were able to get closer to our goal of $500 with the help of two supporters.  One supporter increased by $50 and a new monthly supporter starting giving at $100.
We are so blessed to see this happen.  We are now $350 away in monthly gifts to hit our needed goal.  If the Lord is putting it on your heart to invest in missions in Costa Rica, you can donate by clicking here.   Thank you so much for helping us to minister in Costa Rica!

If you don't feel you are able to commit at this time to becoming one of our monthly supporters, we are always in need of one time gifts to cover airfare to the US, trips to Nicaragua when our visas expire (every 90 days), and other unexpected expenses that aren't in our budget.  We know that God provides for all of our needs and are trusting Him to continue to do so!
 Family Life
This past month the kids finished their first quarter of school (which is actually the third quarter here in Costa Rican school).  They had a week off of school and Granda Shelley & Papa Bob came to visit!  Nathan's parents were even able to begin a relationship with a church that they hope to bring a missions team to in February!

We also had Dana, our friend (who is like family) visit from Delaware. Thanks for all of the  laughs (and new dance moves)! Dana also had the opportunity to serve at a feeding program run by one of our partnering Pastors and PPM staff members.  We miss you Dana!

ALSO...DARRELL'S 19th BIRTHDAY IS THIS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1st! DON'T FORGET HIM:  Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Snapchat...he has it all!
Building a Team
As we are in "slow" season on leading mission trips, I am focusing on building an amazing team of Trip Leaders, Assistants, and Interpreters.  For the
last two months I have been meeting with interpreters who are potentially interested in serving with us in 2016.  It is exciting to see the people that the Lord is bringi ng our way!

October 9th we will be hosting a gathering at our home for our possible staff to get to know each other and practice their English.  Please keep this night in your prayers as we hope to be able to begin to solidify our team for 2016.

From here we will be planning a staff retreat to train up the team!

Two weeks ago we had the opportunity to visit a pastor up near the border of Nicaragua.  My favorite part of these meetings is to hear the pastor's testimonies.  For this one I was on the edge of my seat, although I had already heard part of it. After being bullied by church kids because [...]...ยป
