Louisville IWL Women's Leadership Conference RECAP!

WOW - what a day last week at our inaugural conference in Louisville, KY! We heard from incredible and passionate speakers, made valuable new connections and walked away with key lessons learned.

Thank you to all of the 250 men and women who were in attendance. Our hope is that everyone not only had an impactful day, but also that everyone took tangible lessons back to work and home.

Here is a quick glimpse at our day. More photos and video to come soon!

Conference Testimonials

We seized the day - that is why we are here today. I think for Louisville - this is big. The quality of the speakers and information shared are high level and something that you are going to able to take away and implement at your job.

Laura Stallard, Principal, Mountjoy Chilton Medley

It has been really inspiring to hear the surge of confidence that we are being given by all of the speakers - the idea the "you can do it." "You can be a powerful, successful and confident woman and you can still be true to yourself at the same time."

Lauren Davis, Marketing Manager, Norton Healthcare

I think the biggest thing here is getting a group of leaders together to re-think "team," to look at business differently, to think about, "How can we help the well being of our employees, how can we help the advancement of our employee population?" Not only how do you help yourself, but also how do you help your employees to become better people and enjoy their life  - from digital detox, your brand and advancing in your company.

Alexandra Paul,  National Well-Being Sales,  Humana

Brown-Forman has been advancing women to the extent it can within its own workforce but it's really important that we bridge this across the community - the work we are doing - because the same issues that we face are the same everywhere else. For us, we want to play a leadership role in advancing the work for women.

Diane Nguyen, VP Human Resources Director,
Global Production,  Brown-Forman

Successful Journey

Women make up approximately 50% of the workforce. However, according to Catalyst Research and Lusk-Moore and Associates, women are exiting organizations at twice the rate of men. Reasons include lack of training, mentoring, support, and development. Today organizations must work harder to recruit and retain top female talent. Companies that offer opportunities for women to thrive will be rewarded for their efforts.

Here are seven tips that can empower and enable women in organizations.
