Reflecting on 2014 and What�s New for 2015

How can we best sum up 2014 at Aleyant? Growth. Inside and out. Not only did we grow internally with nine new hires, but we have also expanded our sales and support teams with feet on the ground within new regions specifically in Asia Pacific, southern Europe and Latin America. As part of our growth in Asia Pacific, we have also created a hosting instance in Singapore.
Growing and strengthening our partnerships was also a key initiative in 2014. Aleyant is very proud to now have official partnerships with HP and Fujifilm, as well as own a stake in Tucanna Software. In addition, we�ve strengthened Aleyant Pressero�s integration with Tucanna�s Approval product.
As we look forward to 2015, we are excited for the following opportunities on the horizon:
- Network Upgrade: We've completed a massive network and hardware upgrade in January. The new infrastructure will improve uptime and provide overall opportunities for improvement.
- Print Job Manager: Our third product, Print Job Manager, is currently under development. After giving our customers an early look at the product, we have modified our approach a bit and are now developing an Android/iOS app to be a critical piece of the offering.
- Pressero v6: Our development team is completing a significant rewrite of Pressero. The focus is on an architecture that will be more stable, robust, and maintainable. We are on target to be ready for testing by mid-Q2.

Back around 2000/2001, there was still a great deal of resistance among commercial printers to accepting PDFs, rather than native application files, for print production. Many also resisted the idea of accepting files via the Internet. But many shops found that limiting the formats they supported or how customers could submit jobs was a great way to lose business�business that was in the process of becoming scarce. (There were even some printers at the time who would still only accept �camera-ready copy��remember that?)

Aleyant Opens New European Office + Welcomes New Managing Director
|
This past fall, Aleyant opened an office in Europe and acquired certain assets from Spanish reseller Datafont to provide improved sales and support in Southern Europe and Latin America as well as to further build its reseller network. Datafont is a specialist in providing variable data printing and web-to-print solutions to the graphic arts marketplace.
�We have successfully been working with Datafont for some time,� said Greg Salzman, President of Aleyant Systems. �By integrating Datafont�s staff and management into our organization, we can better serve Southern Europe and Latin America, including Mexico, where we already have a good base of customers and prospects. Datafont is a good cultural fit with Aleyant, and its sales and technical expertise, as well as its deep relationships, will help us extend our footprint in these regions, including through aggressive channel development.�
Datafont�s Jose Vte. Salas will continue to operate Datafont to support existing customers and also act as Managing Director of the Aleyant Europe office based in Spain. A significant portion of the expert Datafont staff will transition to Aleyant�s new Spanish operation.
Salas comes to Aleyant with over 25 years of experience in the print industry, with a major focus on variable data printing and web-to-print. Welcome, Jose!
