"We capped off a great Homecoming weekend with a memorable reception for football alumni and friends. Celebrating the history of our program after a big homecoming win was terrific. A total of 120 people associated with our program over the last 33 years enjoyed the reunion together. The turnout shows how much potential this program has moving forward. We are already looking forward to the 2016 event."

Annual Phonathon Effort nets over $50,000
Freshman Mitch Jones Leads the Way

Every fall, a group of talented student callers work with the Kentucky Wesleyan Development Office to connect with alumni and friends of the College through the Phonathon program.  This annual effort allows external constituents to chat with a current student, verify their contact information so they don't miss important communication from the College, and also provide financial support for the General Scholarship Fund.  This year's effort, which concluded in October, generated over $50,000 in charitable gifts.  Mitchell Jones, a freshman baseball player from Ft. Thomas, KY, led the way by securing $36,000 - 72% - of this year's total!

Director of Development and Donor Relations, M. Blake Harrison, describes Mitch as a model student and employee.  "He is professional, punctual, and dedicated," said Harrison.  Learn more about the amazing Mitch Jones here

Jones welcomed several folks into the President's Circle, a new giving society reserved for donors who contribute $1,000+ during the fiscal year.

The Wilson family on campus in 2012 for son Matt's football game; Ben, Kathy, Matt, Stephanie and Doug.

Doug Wilson, a physics major and former baseball player at Wesleyan, says his grade point average was higher than his batting average, and he was forced to attend medical school to make a living. He has shared his love of baseball in four books. The most recent, "Pudge: The Biography of Carlton Fisk," was published by Thomas Dunne Books, on Oct. 20, 2015, the day before the 40th anniversary of Fisk's famous home run in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series. Bill Nowlin of the Boston Globe describes Doug Wilson's research as "meticulous." Publisher's Weekly says, "Wilson delivers a solid look at the prodigious career of one of the finest baseball players of the '70s."
