Embody Physical Therapy & Yoga
December 2014

It's hard to believe that another year has almost reached its conclusion.  And while time is speeding all around us, it is important to take a moment to breathe and appreciate all that has transpired in that precious year before we move onto the next one.  In truth, it is about paying attention to each moment that will provide us with a sense of wonder and presence every single day of the year.

In honor of the Holidays and the New Year, I want to share the amazing staff at Embody and some of their special moments with you.

Nicole Mullins (Clinic Manager/Lead Physical Therapist/Yoga Instructor) and I met over 14 years ago.  I will never forget the day she interviewed me for a PT position in the clinic she was working for.  Years later, we are still together and she has done an amazing job ensuring that the quality of care at our center remains the highest while I tend to my life in Israel.  I am forever grateful for her on our team and in my life!  Nicole bought a house this year with her family and has been furthering her skills by completing two Visceral Manipulation courses at the Barral Institute.

Jenn & Jax Jennifer Chang (Physical Therapist/Yoga Instructor) joined Embody almost 3 years ago and is our resident dancer and hip hop queen.  Her little man, Jax, turned 1 year old in August and is enjoying all the new skills that come with being in "One-derland"!  Jim and Jenn are also excited to announce that Jax will be a big brother!  Baby Chang #2 will be here in June 2015.

Alison, Sean & Wiley Alison McLean (Physical Therapist/Yoga Instructor) has been with us for over 2 years and it has been such a time of growth for her.  She completed my 100 hour Yoga for a Happy Back Certification and the 200 hour Mentorship Program this year.  She has also taken 2 continuing education courses at the Institute of Physical Art.  Along with her husband Sean, (and dog Wiley) she purchased her first home in Encinitas, CA.   This is what they do every weekend in North County!  Not too bad...

Maribeth & Co. Maribeth Condon
(Physical Therapist) joined the Embody team this past May.  She immediately dove into Yoga and completed the 100 hour Yoga for a Happy Back Certification with me this past summer and has also completed Visceral Manipulation 1-3 with the Barral Institute.  She is an avid traveller has been to Sedona for hiking, Mammoth for skiing, New Orleans for Jazz Fest & Cape Cod to visit family and friends this year.  She is a talented manual therapist as well and comes to us with over 29 years of experience. We are lucky to have her!  Here she is pictured with her new travel companion.

Amanda Cravinho
(Lead Office Manager) has done an incredible job keeping Embody running smoothly for the last year.  She had many big events this year including successfully completing her first year of Grad School for an MS in Nutrition and started her second year in the fall, purchased a home over the summer and became an aunt in February! If you need someone to run your life for you, Amanda is your girl, trust me.

 Caitlin Steiger
(Office Manager) is the newest addition to our staff and has come on board to help us as we continue to grow.  She is an avid Yoga practitioner and completed 2 yoga trainings this year - Therapeutic Yin Yoga and Yoga Anatomy. She moved in with her boyfriend and together they love to adventure.  They had the opportunity to travel to Denver, NY, Seattle and Portland. Caitlin also had the chance to see her favorite hockey team, NY Islanders play in Anaheim.

And finally, my year.  Along with continuing my integration into Israeli culture and enjoying life abroad close to my family, I graduated my first Yoga for a Happy Back Certification class in Israel this past year and another one in San Diego this past summer.  I have also recently passed my Physical Therapy Boards in Israel!  Big news is that I just signed a contract with a publisher to write two books on Yoga for a Happy Back, one for teachers and health professionals and another one on Scoliosis for the public.  This has been an exciting year!  Not only that, but I get to feel old as my eldest son, Jake, turns 18 on December 15! How did this happen?

Wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy New Year filled with peace, love and joy!

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu - May all being everywhere be happy and free!

Blessings,
