NEW VENOM EXHIBIT  IN REPTILE HALL

Learn More About Venom
In partnership with the Viper Institute, the Desert Museum is developing a new exhibit in the Reptile and Invertebrate Hall all about venom!  Did you know that venom is sometimes called supercharged saliva?  Stay tuned and watch as this new exhibit is completed.  Get ready to earn more about the many types of animals that produce venom at this new exhibit.  
MINERAL MADNESS - JANUARY 17-18
Rock Out With The Desert Museum 
Plan to attend this year's event for a rockin' good time.  Shop the Mineral Marketplace from 9 am to 4 pm each day and check out the jewelry-making demonstrations. Learn about the region's gems and minerals at activity stations throughout the grounds.  Or test your athletic ability on the new rock climbing tower! (small additional fee) Kids can start their own collections with complimentary specimens (while supplies last), participate in paint-with-minerals art activities, and "rock out" to the Nap Skippers or Mr. Nature live musical performances. Most activities are free with Museum admission.  Members-only preview and sale on Thursday, January 15 from 5:00-7:00 pm.

Get Involved and Be a Part of the Museum
If you love visiting the Museum on a regular basis, consider getting more involved by becoming a volunteer.  Volunteering is a great way to spend time in a stunning environment while helping to support desert conservation. The Museum is currently seeking volunteers  in variety of departments including Visitor Services.  If you're outgoing. like meeting people from around the world, and sharing your expertise on what to see and do, then consider becoming part of the Desert Museum's Greeter team.  Explore how you can become involved.
