A Big Haircut for a Big Campaign

Donald Kohlhafer of Bank of America Merrill Lynch sheds his locks for a good cause
Don Kohlhafer prepares to shed his locks for a good cause
We love the ways companies infuse creative incentives into their UWCM workplace fundraising campaigns to
motivate giving and make philanthropy fun. This campaign, Bank of America Merrill Lynch did just that when Senior Vice President Donald Kohlhafer promised to shave his head if employees met their fundraising goal. Not only did employees meet the goal, but they exceeded it by more than 6%. Our sincerest thanks to the team  there for such a tremendous contribution to our neighbors in need. See photos from the big haircut here!

Student United Way

Did you know that we recently started the first Student United Way chapter in Maryland? Made up of an intercollegiate group of students from local universities, Student United Way of Central Maryland (SUWCM) is committed to getting caring young people involved in the community, helping them grow as leaders and build lasting relationships with the United Way movement. If you know any local college students who want to get involved, please encourage them to connect with SUWCM on Facebook!

Our Mission:

Mobilize the community to improve people's lives.
