- 24 Jan 2012 - IEE (Intelligent Energy Europe) Info Day

- 31 Jan 2012 - TEN-T (Trans-European Network for Transport) Info Day

Despite the FP7 Transport calls closed last Dec 2011, the Transport-Move call will be open until 01 Mar 2012. By the way, an updated FAQ was published on 19 Dec 2011 and it is available under "additional documents" section.

An important news for our European readers:

The Memorandum of Understanding associating Moldova to FP7 was signed on 11 October 2011. The provisions of this association instrument will be applicable from 01 Jan 2012 and allow Moldovan researchers to submit proposals to all of the calls open under the 2012 work programmes.

ICT-PSP 2012 Info Day and Call

The draft ICT PSP (Policy Support Programme) Work Programme 2012 has been approved by the CIP ICT Committee . The work programme is still subject to the formal approval by the Commission (expected in January 2012).

The 6th Call for Proposals would be opened from 1 February to 15 May 2012 (pending to the formal approval of the Work programme 2012 by the Commission).

Book in your diary the date of Friday 03 Feb 2012 for an information day on the 6th Call for Proposals, in Brussels.

Confirmation of the date, the exact venue and the draft agenda (the event is planned from 9h30 to 16h00) will be published during the week of 09 Jan 2012.

On line registration will be open from that page during the same week.

FP7 Call 9 - FET Proactive InfoDay

The FET-Proactive initiatives aim at focusing resources on visionary and challenging long-term goals that are timely and have strong potential for future impact. These goals provide a common strategic perspective and a focal point around which a critical mass of research can be assembled and synergies developed.

On 18 Jan 2012 in Brussels the InfoDay will be held with the following purposes:

- To provide up-to-date and first-hand information on the 4 FET initiatives in FP7-Call 9. Contractual, legal and administrative modalities will be also covered. A Q&A session will ensure that participants don't leave the event with unanswered questions

- To facilitate the formation of consortia for proposals to the Call, and to promote synergies and collaborations across proposers through an open exchange 'Proposers Forum'. To this end, participants are encouraged to lay out their ideas for possible proposals, identify the expertise they are seeking for, or simply express their intention of getting involved in a consortium.

The FP7 CALL 9 call will be launched in January 2012 (tbc)

The Website of the Month: Road Safety Evaluation

This month EPN Consulting has chosen the British "Road Safety Evaluation" website and its E-valu-it toolkit.

The website contains information on a range of topics, with links and case studies where it is possible to find out more. The heart of the website is the 'E-valu-it' toolkit, which asks to complete a set of questions about intervention and provides recommendations and a partly completed report template to complete the evaluation.

The project has been led by a team from the UK Department for Transport (DfT) and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) in collaboration with Local Authority practitioners. After many interviews of people working in front-line road safety delivery, what was said was put into a practical website full of useful information and explanations.
