Greetings!

PortSide NewYork may have to shut down. Please come to a meeting Mon 2/27 to speak up and hear how you can help. More info below.
We need a home by 4/30 or we close

The home promised us in Atlantic Basin will not be coming in a timely fashion (background info).  The EDC will put out another RFP and we cannot wait for that.

After six years of working on getting a home, and 3+ years working on Atlantic Basin, we finally need a place.

We have an ACTION PLAN and it involves you.

  • Come to our public meeting Mon 2/27/12 6:30-8:30pm at Long Island College Hospital (LICH) to show your support (info below)
  • Donate now to give us more time to work this out
  • Spread the word by sharing this newsletter, our upcoming blog updates and our flyer.

It is all about funding. We cannot earn money with the tanker MARY A. WHALEN in the Red Hook Container Terminal where we are now. We cannot run programs where we are now.  We cannot raise money when we are unable to run programs and have an uncertain real estate situation.  More on the real estate issue on our blog here.

We are launching an emergency fundraising campaign. With more money we can stay open longer while we sort this out, but we need a real home to make this whole enterprise sustainable over the long haul.

Without a home, the MARY A. WHALEN will likely be scrapped as there are few commercial uses for her.
