Workshop - How to launch a Social Media Strategy for your Company

Why is the Social Media important to business?

Social Media has the potential to attract and hold the attention of a wide range of people.

Effective use of Social Media can bring many benefits to your business:

  • Enhance your Brand – Through social media you can build and enhance your online reputation
  • Builds Credibility – User generated endorsements buld more credibility than traditional advertising
  • Increases Traffic – A well-planned social media strategy will drive more traffic to your website
  • Engages Customers – Connect with your customers and respond to their feedback in real-time
  • Affordable Marketing – There’s no need for a large budget to conduct social media marketing
  • Viral Nature – Users can easily share your messages with their friends with a click of a button

What will you learn from these workshops?

Though the majority of companies are aware of the benefits associated with social media, many have not established a social media strategy. For most, this is because they do not know where and how to begin.

These workshops are designed to answer those important questions.

We look at best practices, tools and resources for Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn, and how to use a company blog effectively.

The role of Social Media within a broader internet marketing and PR strategy will be explored

To complement the workshops and help you to launch a Social Media strategy for your business, each workshop delegate will receive a free copy of the WSI Social Media Strategy Kit. As well as the course materials, the kit contains guidance on staff training, policies and procedures plus additional templates, checklists and links to other useful social media resources.

Morning Workshop Topics (9:30-12:30) include:

  • The Changing Internet - why Social Media is important to your business
  • Where and How to get started with the Top 5 Social Portals (Blogging, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube)
  • Making Social Media part of your business - policies, procedures and guidelines

Afternoon Workshop Topics (14:00-17:00) include:

  • LinkedIn - building your profile and getting results from online business networking
  • Setting up a custom Facebook Page for your business
  • Monitoring Twitter and the Social Media - how to measure success and set performance indicators.
  • Social Media and PR
Please note : the two workshops are complementary, with little overlap of material.

Who should attend?

Local business owners and directors, entrepreneuers, sales and marketing managers. In fact, anyone who needs to understand more about getting results from the Social Media.

The workshops require no specialist or technical knowledge. However the afternoon workshop assumes attendees have attended a WSI 'morning' workshop or already have some familiarity with the use of Social Media for Business.
