The Greater Reading Entrepreneurs’ Connection (501c3 nonprofit) is pleased to announce their 3rd and most far-reaching project to help revitalize downtown Reading.
As a part of their community outreach program, they have finalized agreements with the City of Reading, the Reading Redevelopment Authority and ATV Bakery to develop and maintain a public park at 2nd and Franklin streets, across from RACC.
You are invited to help create this green space by attending the kickoff event on March 29th, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:30pm at the Reading Area Community College (RACC), at the Penn/Berks/Schuylkill rooms on the first floor.
Click here to find out about sponsorship opportunities. Along with your support, we can create an uplifting green space in the city of Reading.
The kickoff event is a reception at RACC, with a presentation of the new park design and its benefit to the community. Invited local dignitaries and celebrities have offered to show their support for this project: The Reading Rising Park.
The evening will include ways in which the community can join this outreach effort for Reading. We shall also talk about a long range vision on how to create a template for more urban greening projects in Reading. MC Mike Reinert from Channel 69 News will introduce the program. There will be music, hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.
Reception Schedule:
5:00 PM - networking reception with hors d’oeuvres from local vendors
5:30 PM to 6:15 PM - presentation program by EC and information from public figures and officials
