TAGS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY!

2012 DFW Auto Show
|  It's almost time for the 2012 DFW Auto Show and another volunteer opportunity with TAGS. This is one of the most anticipated annual events in the Metroplex. It is a chance for consumers to see every major auto line under one roof. It is also an opportunity for the public to meet some Greyhounds.

The show is open from Wednesday, March 21 through Sunday, March 25, but the TAGS booth will only be open on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 25, 2012, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. Please volunteer to bring your foster Greyhound or your own Greyhounds.
If you can come with your Greyhound or TAGS foster Greyhound for one of the shifts below, please contact Suzanne Griggs at griggsgreys@tx.rr.com.
- Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Saturday 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Sunday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admission to the event is free for volunteers working the TAGS booth. Unfortunately, you will have to pay to park (but car pooling is a good idea).
Last year, Bear found his forever home at this event. Maybe one or more of the other TAGS Greyhounds will be as lucky this year!!

Lure Coursing - The Date is Getting Closer
|
If we have sufficient rain, Saturday, April 14, 2012, will be a Greyhound-only lure coursing and straight racing day at the farm of Sam and Deann Haggard in Celina. It doesn't matter that your dog has never lure coursed or straight raced. It doesn't matter that you don't think your Greyhound has the will to run the course. What matters is that you and your Greyhounds want to have a day of fun in the country. This is only for fun. It will give all the dogs a chance to really stretch their legs and socialize with other Greyhounds. There will be a play yard for the dogs that do not want to lure course or race or those that are resting from the last trip around the course. Lunch will be served and raffle items will be available.
The cost, whether your dog lure courses or straight races, is $10 per dog. Your dog can run as many times as he's able. The cost for lunch is $5 per person. There is no cost if your dog only plays in the play yard. All proceeds directly benefit TAGS.
If it rains on April 14, 2012, the "rain date" will be Saturday, April 28, 2012. This event is for Greyhounds only and all Greyhounds are welcome!!

Send pictures of your greyhounds to add to the revolving Very Happy Hounds. There is also a page on the website - TAGS Tales. Share your Greyhound stories with TAGS and all those who read our website. We look forward to seeing your photos and sharing your stories.
