The word master means three things: the eternal master, the her-and now master, the inner master. The eternal master is principle perceived int he primal image, an idea, an archetype. The here-and now master is the living embodiment of that principle in a given time and place. The inner master is the possibility-- individually sensed as promise, potential and obligation--- of giving the eternal master physical form and reality in one's own life. The inner master embodies unity refound--- a unity preceded by death and dislocation of the original unity. Being's presence in his consciousness is the sequel to catastrophe-- loss of the union with Being, and the brutal tearing out of the primal roots. The master's light is born of the night through which he has passed, and his knowledge harks back to a time when everything he knew had been lost. He is strong because the knows all about weakness and death, and can love because he has known and endured the anguish of solitude.

Essential Oils

What if you could replace many of your over the counter remedies with their natural products? What if you could receive almost immediate relief from a burn or bug bite? What if you could calm a sick child's tummy in minutes? From body aches to weight loss; skin conditions to immune system enhancement; pure therapeutic grade essential oils have solutions to offer. Essential oils are processed with remarkable efficiency by the cells of the body they are therefore especially effective. As they contain a wide spectrum of balancing constituents there are generally no side effects to contend with. Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. As we stop to smell the roses, notice and enjoy the fragrance of a sweet basil plant or the heady scent of a field of lavender we are experiencing the aromatic effects of the essential oils of these plants. The reason essential oils are present in plants are many including; providing them with protection against predators, fungus and disease; essential oils also have a role in plant pollination. These aromatic oils can provide many of the same supports to humans and animals.

Irritable bowel syndrome is a disorder characterized most commonly by cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. IBS is not the same as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis. In IBS, the structure of the bowel is not abnormal, although it causes a great deal of discomfort and distress, but it does not permanently harm the intestines and does not lead to a serious disease, such as cancer.

Most people can control their symptoms with diet, stress management, and prescribed medications. For some people, however, IBS can be disabling. They may be unable to work, attend social events, or even travel short distances.

Irritable bowel syndrome or IBS affects up to 55 million Americans, mostly women. IBS causes are unknown. IBS is generally diagnosed on the basis of a complete medical history that includes a careful description of symptoms and a physical examination.

No specific test for IBS exists, although diagnostic tests may be performed to rule out other problems....

The simple ritual of sharing a cup of tea while sitting around a kitchen table is a wisdom- keeping practice. This ritual slows us down to be mindfully present to one another. In this movement of slowing down and connecting, we can more easily reach down into our inner well of wisdom that can guide us toward the light of our intuitive knowledge. This kind of knowing can restore and uplift our mind, body, spirit, and soul.

I remember the time when my father made me tea out of the cloves that he picked in the field. I was not feeling well that day and he said that it was "time for a cup of tea." As I watched him bring the water to a boil and place the cloves gently in the water to steep, I felt loved. I became an intimate part of his healing ritual as I watched his methodical steps. Needless to say, even before I drank the tea, I knew that I was being restored and uplifted.
