During the last year SBOING, our member from Greece, has been collaborating with the Hellenic Open University on a project regarding the "PILOT DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF A DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM USING AN AD HOC WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK OF STATIONARY OR MOBILE NODES" with a wide range of applications, from traffic information to Location-based Services (LBS) and the Future Internet (FI) of people, things and services. This work was submitted to the annual international h/w competition "Cooking-Hacks" (by Libelium) and ranked in the top 5 finalists: http://www.cooking-hacks.com/index.php/let-s-cook/community-hacks.
It has also been presented and received the "best student research work" award in the International Conference on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS-2011).

This will represent a definitive added value for visitors that will enjoy one of the most exhaustive lists of professional events. This Crowd Funding Campaign will ensure that this Section will be kept FREE as well as enriched with hundrends of additional events that currently are not listed.

There is still time available. The campaign will end on 17th Dec 2011 and will allow EPN Consulting to expand its EVENTS Section from early 2012.

This month EPN Consulting has chosen the 112 Foundation.

We all have heard of the free emergency number 112 that has been activated in Europe (alike the US 911) but only few know details about this initiative.

The 112 Foundation was created to save lives by promoting the knowledge and appropriate use of the European emergency number 112. The 112 Foundation was proposed and established by EENA - the European Emergency Number Association - in cooperation with its Advisory Board. Its main objective is to offer campaign materials to all citizens and organisations willing to inform and educate on the 112.  

Did you know that the 11th February is the "European 112 Day"? Are you aware of the "112 song" in several languages?
