Pirate Days Volunteers Needed

TAGS will again participate in Pirate Days in the Colony at Stewart Creek Park (3700 Sparks, The Colony, Texas) TAGS will showcase its adoptable Greyhounds and introduce the public to Greyhounds who have had the pleasure of living out their retirement in your home.
Our show hours will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 and Sunday, October 16, 2011. Please contact Suzanne via email to let her know if you can volunteer to work a two-hour or four-hour shift on either of these two days.
As last year, the proceeds from the Salty Dog Costume Contest (on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.) will be donated to TAGS. Let the pirate in your dogs come out. Dress your dogs in their best costume finery and enter the contest ($8 for the first dog and $4 for each additional entry.) Entry form and instructions here. It's a greyt festival for the whole family. Be sure to share this information with your friends and family. We hope to see you there.

Greyhound Lure Coursing - Save the Date (tentative)

Save the Date (tentative)!!! Saturday, October 22, 2011, will be a Greyhound-only lure coursing day at the farm of Sam and Deann Haggard in Celina.
Due to the safety of the Greyhounds, this event may need to be postponed until the Spring. The lure coursing field and play yards have dangerous holes and ruts in them right now and we need rain badly to fix this issue.
It doesn't matter that your dog has never lure coursed. It doesn't matter that you don't think your Greyhound has the will to run the course. What matters is that you and your Greyhounds want to have a day of fun in the country. There will be a play yard for the dogs that do not want to lure course or those that are resting from the last trip around the course. Lunch will be served. Raffle items will be available. More details and reminders will follow. Put the date as tentative on your calendar.
