CRDF Global continues its Science Diplomacy event series with the second bootcamp for journalists. The three-hour session--with lunch provided--is designed to help science, policy, business and international journalists to identify and cover the stories at the intersection of these issues.

Learn from journalists, issue experts and peers including:

	Award-winning journalist Alaa Majeed. As the moderator, Alaa will share her stories and insights as a journalist and serve as the audience’s advocate; posing challenging questions to the panel.
	Cathy Campbell, President and CEO, CRDF Global. As the head of an organization that implements science diplomacy projects around the world, Cathy will inform attendees how these projects work, who's involved and how success is achieved. Cathy will also provide a brief “forecast” of where science diplomacy is taking hold and where it can best be applied.
	Mandë Holford, Assistant Professor in Chemistry at CUNY-Graduate Center and York College, with a scientific appointment at the American Museum of Natural History. As a young research scientist, Mandë will discuss the scope of need, why science provides the long-term solutions to great challenges and what’s at stake.
	Shaifali Puri, Executive Director, Scientists without Borders. Shaifali will discuss the importance of science as a tool in diplomacy and foreign policy, as well as the ways in which technology is increasing the ability and opportunities for counterparts to connect, collaborate and address critical issues. Shaifali will share examples of successful collaborations, and discuss the opportunities that still exist.
	David Dickson, Editor, SciDev.net. David will bridge the understanding of dedicated science and policy writers by demonstrating how to both recognize and successfully cover science diplomacy developments. He will point to successful articles, and highlight consistent themes, phrases and issue emphasis.
