"After
11 years Rob and I, Bunny would like to announce that we have sold
Fat Cat Brewery Ltd. to two young couples. Rob and I will be here

This

featuring Red Truck Beer.
On Sunday St. Augustine's hosts
a beer dinner featuring
Red Truck's latest seasonal, a Dunkel, paired with venison in a
juniper demi-glace and cherries jubilee for dessert. On
Tuesday Central Bistro hosts
their own Red Truck beer dinner,
pairing five Red Truck beers with five courses, many of which
incorporate Red Truck beer as ingredients in the dish as
well.

A letter
to members and supporters,
CAMRA
Vancouver, greater than the sum of all its parts.
Much has
been discussed in quiet groups and corners as to what CAMRA
Vancouver really is all about, what we are doing and what we should
be doing. Perhaps this is the time, before we launch into our next
AGM, to start the discussion...

Casks
Yaletown Making it Real
(Ale)
December 16 @ 4:00pm
Brewmaster Iain Hill will tap a cask of
his seasonal Cascadia Dark Ale at this Thursday's Making it Real
cask event. This CDA was originally released back in October
andsold out quickly; thankfully Iain saved a
cask to serve over the holidays. Iain dry-hopped this CDA with
Amarillo and Centennial to give this beer a classic northwest hop
flavour and aroma, and used chocolate malt to add a roasted,
biscuity malt profile.
Sunset Grill Kits
Cask
December 16 @
7:00pm
The
Sunset Grill usually holds their monthly cask event on the Last
Thursday of the month. Due to Christmas and New Year's, however,
The Sunset Grill has elected to hold this month's cask event early.
This Thursday The Sunset Grill will tap a cask of Russell Brewing's
Winter Porter.
London Pub
December 17 @
5:00pm
London
Pub at Main St. and E. Georgia has hosted a weekly cask event on
Fridays since they opened in November. This week's cask is from
Central City. No details on the cask yet, but knowing brewmaster
Gary Lohin you won't want to miss this cask. Watch @RedRacerBeer and @CAMRA_YVR for updates on the
cask.
The Whip Real Ale
Sundays
December 19 @ 4:00pm
This Sunday The Whip will tap a cask of Central City's
award-winning Red Racer IPA. Canada's best IPA, cask conditioned with even
more hops. Need we say more?
St. Augustines's Manichean
Mondays
December 20 @ 6:00pm
St.
Augustine's will pour a cask of Driftwood Brewing's Blackstone
Porter this Monday. This is a seasonal offering from Driftwood,
brewed only for the winter months. Driftwood's Blackstone Porter
has a bittersweet chocolate profile that's offset by Driftwood's
use of a partial sour mash to leave this porter dry and
roasty.
Railway Club Rail Ale
Tuesdays
December 21 @ 5:00pm
The
Railway Club has a cask of R&B Brewing's Auld Nick Winter Ale.
This seasonal from R&B is a rarity of sorts that seems to get
bigger and bigger each year. Come on down for a pint of this
strong, dark ale, straight from the cask -- a perfect way to spend
the shortest day of the year.
Guilt & Co. Tapping
Solstice
December 22 @ 6:30pm
From
Guilt and Company: "A 6:30pm tapping of Russell`s Brewmaster
Series, A Wee Angry Scotch Ale, will christen the night of
celebration. At 7:30, a second tapping of Black Death Porter from
the same series, will welcome the later crowd who may miss out on
the earlier rounds. There will also be cheese portions paired with
our casks, offered throughout the night."
Upcoming
Casks
There are many monthly cask events around
town in addition to the weekly events mentioned above. Watch out
for the following upcoming casks later in the month.
Taylor's Crossing Firkin
Friday
December
31 @ 5:00pm
Sample
Taylor's Crossing brewmaster David Varga's latest cask-conditioned
creation on the last Friday of each month.
Cascade Room
Cask
January 5 @ 5:00pm
The
Cascade Room taps a cask on the first Wednesday of each month.
Enjoy a pint of real ale in the heart of Main Street.
