Can you believe December is here already?!? I don't know if it's just me, but the Fall has just flown on by. We had so much fun this month, and December is promising to be just as much fun if not more. As we kick off the holiday season, we'll be celebrating with a momstown Whitby-Ajax All That Glitters Holiday Party, as well as many other great events. If you haven't had a chance to check out our upcoming calendar, please head over and do so. We hope to see you all out and about around the neighbourhood soon!

| What's Cooking?
White Chocolate Cranberry Squares
These are delicious... and are super easy for the time starved baker too!
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 cup soft butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 can (300 mL) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup White Chocolate Chips
1 cup dried cranberries
1 pkg (200 g) sweetened shredded coconut
Directions:
Combine flour and sugar in food processor or large bowl. Pulse or cut in butter to form fine crumbs. Press firmly into 13 x 9-inch (33 x 23 cm) baking pan.
Bake in 350˚F (180˚C) oven about 12 minutes, until lightly browned.
Mix together in large bowl, eggs and sweetened milk. Stir in white chocolate chips, cranberries, and coconut. Pour over crust; bake 18 to 22 minutes, until set in centre.
Makes about 48 squares. |

Family Craft Corner
Craft Stick Christmas Tree
Create your own Christmas Tree.
green paint
green pipe cleaners
glue
glitter
What to do:
Paint your craft stick green.
Wrap the pipe cleaners around the stick leaving the ends pointing out on both sides.
Thread a few beads to serve as "ornaments" onto the tree branches. Add a dab of glue to help them stay in place.
Add a little glue to the branches and sprinkle some glitter onto the tree.
Once you've created your tree, you can add it to your own Christmas card or tie a string to the top and hang it on your own tree! |
