The Dog Days of
Summer |
August 12, 2010 |
Welcome to the Dog Days of Summer edition of
the Daily Boater - the official newsletter & blog
of FirstBoat.com.
Actually, our local weather reporter told us on the news last
night that the Dog Days have officially
ended, at least here in southern New England. Here's hoping
that cool, dry weather will prevail over the next few weeks to
allow for some serious boating.
And now, here's a special offer
from our sponsor:
Got a great boat name? You should put your
boat name on a polo shirt, life ring, beach towel or a welcome
mat.

this week's wrap-up from the Daily

Boaters
found drifting, treading water in separate mishaps
After drifting for three days at sea on a 32 ft center console
fishing boat, three men were found safe more than 80 miles off the
coast of Jacksonville.
An incident with a less fortunate ending took place in the wee
hours of Saturday morning near Chicago. All four of the young
adults aboard an untethered 31-foot sailboat jumped off the boat to
go for a swim in Lake Michigan.
