The story is about Geraldine Goodkitty, a once domesticated house
cat that was abandoned, now living "on the street" with her three
young kittens. If you think losing your job and getting your house
foreclosed on isn't fun, Geraldine's plight is a lot worse. She
makes the best of it with help from her friends, teaching her
kittens valuable lessons in life, like choosing love over fear, to
explain their interactions with other members of the animal
community and humans.
It's hard to believe the author does not have a background in
spirituality, because the concepts Geraldine embodies are universal
spiritual concepts, only told from a cat's point of view. Then
again, the book came to Kercher in a dream, so it is easy to assume
there was a higher consciousness involved. And she definitely puts
it to good use.
The book will take you on an emotional roller coaster as her
kittens mature. And trust me, you will never look at cats the same
after you finish this book.
