CUGH Global Health Bulletin
October 17, 2014
NEW ABSTRACT DEADLINE: OCT. 31st!

Letter from the Executive Director

Dear CUGH Member,

This is an important time to advocate for appropriate funding for US Global Health Programs in the President's fiscal year 2016 budget request. The Global Health Council (GHC) compiled a very good list of recommendations for FY16 (in thousands of dollars) for various global health accounts/programs. This list is below. Please use this list with the attached numbers and approach your Congresspersons and Senators to support the funding in this document.

Importantly, please take your advocacy to the public and explain what we're asking for and why these investments are important to the American public, the US, and the world. US leadership in these areas has saved millions of lives and has compelled others to contribute to improve the health and well being of the world's most impoverished people. These investments, of course, also improve the lives of Americans, who also suffer from many of the same health challenges found throughout the world.

Thank you for taking your advocacy to government officials and the public.

Sincerely,

Keith Martin MD

Executive Director

CUGH
