The Southington Education Foundation is hosting its Sixth Annual "Fan of the Foundation" Gala Friday, October 24 from 7:00 p.m. to midnight at the Aqua Turf Club. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite sports attire while they enjoy tailgating food stations, dancing and open bar.
This year the Foundation will recognize Rogers Orchards as the SEF's "Top Fan of the Year". This award was instituted as a way to recognize individuals and or groups that support the Foundation through generous funding. The SEF anticipates this recognition will be an annual award at their Gala.
The Fan of the Foundation Gala has become well-known for its one-of-a -kind live and silent auction items. The following are just a few of the items that guests will have the opportunity to bid on: chance to be a principal for the day, a SHS "Complete Senior" package, reserved VIP seating for the 2015 SHS graduation, Walt Disney Park-Hopper passes, a personal drone, a five-course gourmet dinner for eight, a tailgating package and more. Artwork created by our own Southington students will also be available.
Once again Todd Piro, morning anchor at NBC Connecticut will emcee the Live Auction portion of this event and Butch Gray will provide music for dancing to round out this evening of fun.
This is the Southington Education Foundation's major fundraiser. All proceeds go directly into our Southington public school classrooms through grants and programs such as the Fourth Grade Science at Sloper initiative and the Virtual STEM University. To date the SEF has funded 54 grants and more than $130,000 has been disbursed to all Southington schools since the SEF's establishment in March 2009.
