Together, we CAN make a difference
and take steps to END bullying!

During Week #5 of our virtual bully prevention walk, we felt it was important  to not only provide more valuable bullying resources for schools and parents, but also LOTS of encouragement for those students who are being bullied.

Bullying Resources

Bullying is a collective problem, so its prevention requires a collective response.  Crisis Prevention (CPI) asked parents, professionals and kids for their advice on the subject of bullying.  This guide is a collection of enlightened answers to help kids who are being bullied, teachers, administrators, parents, advocates, and kids who bully.

What Actually Helps Kids
 in a  Bullying Situation?
The answers just might surprise you!

Stan Davis (known for his work with the Olweus Bully Prevention Program) &

Charisse Nixon, PhD, headed the Youth Voice Research Project.  The Youth Voice Research Project is a study involving a survey of approximately 13,000 students who had been bullied in grades 5-12, from 31 schools in 12 different states.

They asked the surveyed bullied students 2 key questions:

  • What helped in coping with a bullying situation
  • What didn't help in coping with a bullying situations

The results may surprise you!  Some commonly recommended strategies do not in fact appear to be helpful in resolving or coping with bullying situations.

However, other strategies do appear helpful!

Check out the Parent/Educator Tip Sheet to learn what kids really do find helpful!
