Hello Friends & Neighbors,

There is some great news to report for Wildlife in Virginia Beach this week.

Sea Turtles Released at the Beach
Yesterday was a beautiful day in Virginia Beach, made more so by the release of three rehabilitated sea turtles.
This day was made possible by the efforts of concerned fishermen as well as the great work that happens just off of General Booth Blvd. at the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.

Because of the important work they perform every day, not only do they help us have a better understanding of the world we live in, they use every resource they can find to give sick or injured wildlife a second chance to have a full life in their own environment. Their stranding response team responds to approximately 300 of calls each year to assist  sick or injured marine life and with each case, they help further our understanding of how the things we do can harm marine life.

You can track the progress of the sea turtles that were released yesterday by visiting SeaTurtle.org and entering the turtle's name. The turtles released yesterday were "Wolverine," "Loki" and "Lex Luther".
It looks like "Wolverine" is headed back towards the Eastern Shore where he was found.
