2014 Mid-Atlantic Lean Conference

22-23 October, Timonium MD

Mid-Atlantic Conference 2012

Keynote Speaker Profile: Russ Scaffede
Inside the Toyota Production System

One of the "can't miss" keynotes at the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Lean Conference will be from Russ Scaffede.  Russ is one of America's most knowledgeable experts on the Toyota Production System and its application to wide-ranging business operations

Russ joined Toyota's Georgetown, Kentucky plant as General Manager of Powertrain Operations after almost twenty years with General Motors.  He studied the Toyota Production System (TPS) in great depth, and developed his understanding of the critical missing piece in most other companies' attempts to recreate TPS: true participative, people-centric leadership of continuous improvement.

After five years at Toyota, Russ led the lean transformations of several other companies, including a Detroit Three automaker, the Donnelly corporation, Tiara Yachts, and interior trim group supplier, Toyota Boshoku America.

Russ is the former Chairman of the Shingo Prize Board of Governors, and co-author of The Leadership Roadmap with former Donnelly CEO, Dwane Baumgardner.
