OHTN Seeks Members for Board of Directors

The Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN) is accepting applications for qualified candidates for the following vacancies on the OHTN Board of Directors commencing September 21, 2012, for a two-year term:

  • Two (2) Researchers
  • Two (2) Community Members*
  • One (1) HIV Primary Care Physician from Toronto

Qualified candidates should be residents of Ontario and will bring the following competencies or experience:

  • Knowledge of the OHTN and its mission, values, programs, policies and strategic plan and a commitment to promote them
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in HIV research and issues related to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, service delivery, policy, advocacy and/or community response
  • Demonstrated HIV/AIDS governance, or related, experience
  • Availability to attend Board meetings 6 times a year; as well as committee meetings and teleconferences during the two-year term.

To stand by OHTN's commitment to diversity and Board representation from all regions of Ontario, the Board encourages persons from northern Ontario and outside the Greater Toronto Area to apply. The Board is actively seeking the participation of persons living with HIV/AIDS, as well as members of Aboriginal communities, persons from ethnocultural and racialized communities, and persons from, or with experience of, relevant HIV stakeholder groups.

  • One-page cover letter including your name and contact information; the stakeholder groups and communities you represent, or have experience with; an explanation of the contribution you would bring to the OHTN Board of Directors
  • One-page biography demonstrating your contribution to the HIV/AIDS response in Ontario (a full CV or resume may also be attached to the one-page biography)
  • Two references (with contact information) that may speak to your qualifications and commitment.


Persons interested in serving on the Board are strongly encouraged to review the OHTN Strategic Plan to 2015, the Funding Research with Real-Life Impact Policy, the Board Competencies document and other relevant documents on the OHTN website www.ohtn.on.ca.

 

After a review of all applications, short-listed candidates will be contacted for a phone-interview. All personal information received in this process will be kept in the strictest confidence and protected in accordance with privacy legislation and OHTN policies. 

 

The OHTN thanks all applicants for their interest. Only those applicants selected for an interview for a Board position will be contacted. The results of this process will be posted on the OHTN website after the confirmation of new Board members at the OHTN's Annual General Meeting in September 2012.
