From Pete...

An offering for all people struggling with depression. May all beings everywhere be happy and free and may our actions help to create more happiness and freedom in the world.

If You Forget By Rob Fisher

If you forget how beautiful you are
I will remember
I will remember your barefoot connection to the earth,
The risks you have taken.
And the compassion in your heart
I will remember the courage of your questions.
And the tiny wrinkles that make your bright and shining eyes
So welcoming.
I will remember how you shine in your enthusiasm,
Your delicate embarrassment,
The passion and serious intensity
Behind your words.
If you forget,
Come with me.
There is a path I know
High up on the mountain
And deep in the core of the rich black earth
Where we can drink together
From the pool of your tears,
And listen as the mountains echo
With the sound of your laughter
If you forget,
I will taste,
One more time
The deep dark sweetness of your soul,
That wonderful essence that belongs only to you.
If you are tired,
Come rest in the warmth of my hands
and I will whisper
Stories of your greatness
in your ears.
Oh, how I am intoxicated by the flavors of your soul.

I hope that you are having a great summer. I look forward to our paths crossing sometime soon.

Namaste,

Pete

Bodhi
Bodhi Silent Yoga and Meditation Retreat
October 1 thru October 5, 2014
Vajrapani Institute
Boulder Creek, CA
  Yogaseated
In Buddhism, a Bodhi is one who is on the path to "awakening to the nature of things," or, "enlightenment." The Yoga Bodhi retreat is designed for the experienced yogi to "awaken" or deepen his or her meditation and yoga practice in a quiet and secluded setting.

Each day will begin with meditation in the sacred Gompa room (Buddhist prayer hall), followed by a rigorous vinyasa flow designed to deepen physical and mental awareness and awaken spirit. In the afternoon, the group will gather for a calming Yin and Restorative flow. Each day will end in a meditation designed to calm the thoughts and prepare the body for a deeply restful sleep.

In between gatherings, participants are invited to explore the gorgeous Santa Cruz Mountain trails accessible from Vajrapani, or simply sit in quiet contemplation amongst the redwoods or in the Vajrapani library. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided; all meals are nutritionally balanced, vegetarian, and prepared by Vajrapani's trained chefs.

By the end of the retreat, each Yoga Bodhi participant will have learned new ways in which to continue to "awaken to the nature of things.

No matter
how far
out on the sea
of suffering
we've sailed,
all that is required
is to turn toward awakening.
It's never too late,
but it takes that turning,
and no one
can do that for us.
