RE:                 Good News Regarding DLS Students

********************************************************************

The purpose of this memorandum is to inform you that we periodically hold an assembly (i.e., Principal's Assembly) to honor the accomplishments of De La Salle students.  The focus of the Principal's Assembly is the acknowledgement of accomplishments of our students in both De La Salle activities as well as activities and/or events that may not be officially linked to De La Salle.  In other words, we look to celebrate any and all "good news."  Obviously, we want to recognize the accomplishments of our students to honor them, and to encourage others to pursue worthwhile endeavors.

We ask that you assist us in identifying the accomplishments of your children in activities not officially associated with De La Salle by notifying Mr. Paul Kelly, Assistant Principal, via e-mail [email protected]. Coach Kelly will accumulate this information and distribute it to the appropriate presenter prior to the assembly.  Please be aware that due to time limitations, not every accomplishment sent to Coach Kelly will be announced at a Principal's Assembly.  However, any accomplishment that is omitted due to time restrictions will be announced to the student body over the public-address (PA) system.

The first Principal's Assembly will be held on Monday, October 6th, 2014.  We generally categorize student accomplishments at this assembly in categories such as academics, athletics, extracurriculars, and service/campus ministry.  Although this assembly is several weeks away, we ask that you send Coach Kelly the information as soon as possible, and continue to send him information throughout the school year.

Thank you for your willingness to share the "good news," and God bless you and your families as we strive together to provide your child with an excellent education embedded in Lasallian principles.
