A Man for All Seasons

September 15, 2014

It Was Only Yesterday When....
The decision I was about to make would set the pace of my life. In fact, it might not only set the pace but it may affect the ultimate outcome. To say I was scared was putting it mildly. Nevertheless I said "yes" and hoped for the best.

As I watched the sun set from my office it hit me that I had also watched it rise that same morning from the same place. All that time and I hadn't made a dent in what I needed to do or in my career. I wanted to finish but my mind wandered and my eyes began to burn.

I glanced over and checked the clock noticing it was about 3 a.m.. "Is every night going to be like this?" I asked myself as I watched her pick up our daughter from her bassinet.

All I remember was being handed the phone and hearing the sobbing on the other end. I'd never heard my brother-in-law cry before but I could literally feel the pain in his voice as he said "he's gone, they couldn't save him".

SEASONS

Every man has seasons in his life that he lives through. Some may seem like they will never end while others may start and finish before we even realize it. Just as seasons of the year flow from one into another so are the seasons of a man's life. Yet while we may experience the new growth of spring once a year in nature a man may continue to find himself living in the same season of his life from last year. While the temperature outside may be hot there could be a chill inside a man's soul.

What do the season's of your life look like? Are you anticipating change or are you praying for time to stand still?

Join us @ THE CORE this Friday as we begin a new series exploring "The Season's of a Man's Life" starting this Friday.  Every week we will take a look at a season every man can relate to in his own life. Maybe you are in that season now?

Join The Conversation
@ THE CORE  is  an interactive environment where men can engage in a conversation that helps answer some of those questions. Every week is an opportunity for a man to meet with other men and lean into some topics relevant to men. It's a chance to create some connections that not only impact your day but also your life.

Why not carve out an extra hour every Friday morning in your schedule to join us? It won't cost you anything but it may very well enrich your life.  Currently no reservations are needed (unless we have a special guest) so drop on by!

Not a morning person? Don't worry we will have hot coffee and food to help take the edge off.

Programming Note-
For the last couple of years we have taken pride in presenting only Krispy Kreme doughnuts as a part of our lineup each Friday. Recently we noticed Krispy Kreme had stopped sending in the royalty checks so we have had to diversify our offerings! This season we will begin offering a mixture of Einstein bagels, Dunkin Donuts & Krispy Kreme on a rotational basis.
