His Hand Our Feet
Listen to this week's preview.

Our Feet His Body in Action

God has sent His people out, just not by themselves, but as a people sent out with the Holy Spirit to proclaim (word) the Good News and demonstrate (action) His Kingdom here on earth. We should then be working together as one body, not as individual parts, but as one body proclaiming and demonstrating Jesus to a broken world.

Online Bible
Romans 10:11-17, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 20-27 and John 20:19-23

Please Note: Grace Place and Castaway will not meet in August; we will resume on Sept. 6 and 7.

The Congregation Issues a Call

On Wednesday, August 20 at the Voters' Meeting, Dr. Rev. Joseph Meyer was elected to be called as our next Senior Pastor. Pastor Meyer was notified of the congregation's decision following the meeting, and call documents were delivered to him.

The first part of the Divine Call process was completed by the call committee in recommending a candidate. The second part was completed by the congregation in calling a Senior Pastor, and the third part involves prayer by Pastor Meyer and this congregation. At this time Pastor Meyer is prayerfully considering what God's will is for him concerning this call.

Feel free to ask questions of the Call Committee and Governing Board concerning this process.

The Call Committee respectfully requests that you keep Pastor Meyer, his family and the whole congregation in your prayers.

Meals From the Heartland

August 27-30 We were excited about the overwhelming response of our church to help package food at Hy-Vee Hall. Thank you and we will see you there!

Fall 2014

We begin this fall with great anticipation for what God will do within our congregation. We have a resource brochure that will highlight all of our fall activities. Pick one up this weekend and then take some time to find which ones interest you.

Mark Your Calendars

Sept. 6 and 7: Grace Place, Castaway and Adult Studies Begin
Sept. 10: Faith Alive, Youth and Adult Studies Begin

Neighborhood Fall Fest

Sunday, Sept. 7 from 5-7:30 p.m.

Back by popular demand! We had such a great time last year at our neighborhood bash, we wanted to do it again! We'll provide bounce houses and games for the children, free food for the entire family and live music. So, mark your calendar, bring your family, friends and neighbors!

We need your help! Sign up this weekend in the Narthex or the FLC to help with various jobs during the event, such as set-up, food-servers and overseeing the inflatables.

Pies: Nothing says love quite like a home-made pie. So, we want to sweeten up the event by serving pies. (Please do not bring pies that require refrigeration.)

Water and Pop: In order to refresh our guests, we need lots of water (16.9 oz bottles) and pop (Pepsi and Coke products). Please bring items to the kitchen on Saturday, Sept. 6 or Sunday, Sept. 7.
