(New York, NY December 13, 2012)- The Royalty Network, a leading independent music publisher, has been nominated for the 55th Grammy Awards in the "Best Rap Song" category for Kanye West's "Mercy." The lead single off of West's compilation album, Cruel Summer, features Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz.

The track features the iconic "Stalag" riddim from Royalty Network's writer Winston Riley, and reached #1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop, Rap, and Rhythmic Top 40 charts, #13 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, and has been certified double platinum in the United States. "Mercy" is also nominated for "Best Rap Performance".

Two tracks represented by Royalty Network are on Grammy nominated albums for "Best Rap Album." "Under Ground Kings" on Drake's Take Care features a sample from "Farmer's Pleasure" written by Royalty Network's writers Siccaturie Alcock and Duane Stephenson. "Presidential" on Rick Ross' God Forgives, I Don't was co-written by Royalty Network writer, Lamont Porter.

Additionally, Royalty Network's music arranger and composer, Vince Mendoza, is nominated for "Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying."

The Grammy Awards are presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in recognition of performers, songwriters, composers, and arrangers that achieve excellence in the music industry.
