Welcome Back!

I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful summer weather and were able to take some time for friends, family, and fun away from the office!

As you may have noticed, we have recently been renamed the Dulles Corridor chapter to better reflect the communities in which our members live and work. With this change, we are focused more than ever on attracting and retaining members in the Dulles Corridor area, so you'll begin to see more requests for your honest feedback and involvement. We want to know what you think - about the speakers who present, about networking activities to be offered by the chapter, and about how the NCMA Dulles Corridor chapter can help your professional growth.

We're excited to kick off the start of the program year in September with a presentation on Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) updates from lively DAU Professor Michelle Currier. Looking ahead, we're offering a CFCM study group this fall, our first ever CPCM group in the spring of 2015, and some fun ideas to help you connect with other chapter members.

Stay tuned for more information and registration links for our upcoming monthly seminars and events via email, social media, and on our website, www.ncmadulles.org. Thank you for your continued support of the chapter, and we look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event soon!

Spotlight On: Two Chapter Officers Win NCMA Award

Misse Parzow

Dulles Corridor Chapter VP of Eduction and Professional Development Misse Parzow and VP of Membership Heather Dallara are two of the winners of NCMA's Top Professionals Under 40 in Contract Management Award in 2014. This award was established in 2012 to provide peer recognition to the rising stars and top

performers in the contract management profession under the age of 40. These professionals, who are the future of contract management, come from the ranks of academia, government, and industry.

Heather Dallara

NCMA plans to present this award at a reception on Sunday night, November 2, 2014, prior to the Government Contract Management Symposium at the Marriott

Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. The presentation of the award will also appear in a future issue of Contract Management magazine.

Congratulations to Misse and Heather on receiving this award for their hard work and dedication to the contract management profession!

Do You Know Someone Who Should "Make The Switch?"

Every NCMA chapter is assigned a territory by Headquarters. Our chapter covers a large territory: Herndon, Reston, Dulles, Chantilly, Sterling, Ashburn, Leesburg, Centreville, and Manassas. This does not necessarily mean an NCMA member must belong to the chapter assigned to their location. Every chapter has its own personality in terms of offerings and NCMA members should choose a chapter that offers them the maximum benefit as it relates to their professional development.

Do you know a fellow NCMA member who is in another chapter? Then ask them to check us out. If they like what we offer, they can Make The Switch to the Dulles Corridor Chapter. An NCMA member in Virginia who switches chapter affiliation to Dulles Corridor will receive a free seminar!

We make it easy to Make The Switch. Just direct your colleague to our website page, http://www.ncmadulles.org/MakeTheSwitch He/she will provide their name, NCMA member number, and email address. We will then automatically send an email to NCMA's Member Services requesting the chapter change. It's that easy! Once the transfer is confirmed, Heather Dallara, our VP of Membership, will issue the registration code for the free seminar.

Coming Soon!
The Dulles Corridor Chapter will offer the latest NES, Subcontract Management from A to Z this year. Stay tuned for more details!
